LEE POCKRISS has written pop songs, film scores and Broadway shows.
He is currently working on the musical of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, with book by Henry Farrell and lyrics by Hal Hackady. With lyricist Anne Croswell he has written the songs for the Broadway musical Tovarich starring Vivien Leigh (Tony Award winner), which received a Grammy nomination for Original Cast Album. Mr. Pockriss and Ms. Croswell have also collaborated on the frequently produced Ernest In Love (based on The Importance of Being Ernest) CD re-mastered and re-issued in 2003 by DRG Records; Conrack, based on Pat Conroy s The Water is Wide presented at AMAS, Goodspeed and Ford s Theatres, as well as The White House; Bodo, with book by Hugh Wheeler at Goodspeed Theatre. Other musicals he has written for include Wonderful Olly for the Ulmer Theater and at the Operhaus in Leipzig, Germany, Dolley Madison (book by Samuel Taylor), Divorce, Of Course.
Mr. Pockriss has written and produced songs that have sold over 100 million copies, including the classics: My Little Corner Of The World (Country Music Award), Johnny Angel, Playground In My Mind, and Catch A Falling Star for which he received a second Grammy nomination.
For television, he has composed for: Sesame Street, the ABC animated Primetime Special Stanley, The Ugly Duckling, The Milton Berle Show, The Sid Caesar Show, The Mike Douglas Show and the Martha Raye Show.
