John Kavanaugh is currently serving as songwriter/musical director for Disney's brand new princess, Sofia the First. He took home the Daytime Emmy Award® for _x001c_ Outstanding Song: Main Title_x001d_ for Sofia the First. His music can also be heard in several animated features Disney s hit Winnie the Pooh Movie, Springtime with Roo, and the Nickelodeon musical , Globe Hunters, and Around the World in 80 Days Adventure which includes the song _x001c_ Be Where You Are_x001d_ featuring Chaka Kahn. With lyricist Marcy Heisler, John wrote "Joseph s Lullaby" especially for Michael Crawford, featured on Crawford s album On Eagle s Wings for Atlantic Records. He wrote music and lyrics to the theme for the 2003 Special Olympics, "You re The Dream" recorded by the Walt Disney Records star Myra, and has written songs for the award winning television show Sesame Street.
