Sherman Edwards was born in New York taught American history at James Monroe High School. After earning an undergraduate degree in history, at New York University, he later did graduate work in history at Cornell University.

Sherman Yellen, librettist, was nominated for a Tony Award for his book for The Rothschilds. His contribution to musical theatre includes his libretto for Rex, music by Richard Rodgers, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, recently revised and presented at The York Theatre in New York.

Sidney Sheldon, born February 11, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, is an American screenwriter and novelist.
