Hi, I'll be Music Directing SLM next spring in Virginia. I'm trying to determine how prevalent the double-reeds are in the reed books. For example, the 2-reed version calls for: Bb CLARINET , BASS CLARINET , Eb CLARINET , ENGLISH HORN , FLUTE. The double-reed players in the area don't play all of the single-reed instruments, so I was thinking that depending on how much the English Horn plays in that book, it might be easier to get a single-reed to play the clarinets/flute and then change the Eng Horn to another reed.
