I have been teaching theatre since 1962. I graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1962 and began teaching theatre and advanced English at Albert G. Parrish High School in Selma, Alabama. I served at Alabama State Thespian Director before moving to Georgia where I served as Georiga State Thespian Director for many years. I served on the International Thespian Society Board for many years before becoming President of EDTA for two years and then past president for one year. I am the proud mother of our son Scott Ware with the Hall County Sheriff Office over Child Predators and our daughter Kelli Ware McClendon, who is head of the fine arts department at Father Ryan High School in Nashville. I have been married to my wonderful hubby Bill for almost 59 years.

need to know if NEWSIES is available to produce in October 2018

We at Gainesville High School Drama Department, 830 Century Place, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 would like to schedule NEWSIES as our first musical of our 2018-2019 Theatre Season.  We have  390 seats with our entire faculty of over 140 and their families are all comp.  Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $8 for adults who are 18 years of age and older.  We would like to perform NEWSIES for three performances on October 2-3-4 with permission to cut it for our literary one act competition (no admission is charged for this event which is governed by Ga. High School Association) and usually is held later in October. Should we place first, then we would advance to state in December. Again no admission is charged for state literary competition.

 

We would also like to perform as our closing musical AIDA on May 8-9-10, 2019.  All of the above is the same. 

 

Please get back with me asap and hopefully today or tomorrow so we can begin to set our season for next year.

 

If you have any suggestions for a family friendly musical that is a new , we are interested in that for our December 5-6-7, 2018 musical.  Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you very soon.
