"The Road to Fame" Documentary Film to Premier in NYC

In 2008, Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment and Phoenix Entertainment brought the musical "Fame" to China's top drama academy. Five years later, a feature documentary film titled "The Road to Fame" about that event is premiering in New York at 7:15 PM on Sat. Nov. 16, 2013 at the IFC Center on as part of the 2013 DOC NYC."The Road to Fame" chronicles the eight-month rehearsal to stage China's first official collaboration with Broadway. It follows five students who compete for roles, battle with pressure from family and authority, and prepare to graduate into a cut-throat and corrupt entertainment industry. Three years after their graduation, some of them are well on the way to fame and fortune, while others are still struggling...
Called a "terrific showbiz epic" by the BBC, this film intimately portrays China's dazed and confused urban youths, and tells a universal story of dreaming against all obstacles.
