The students at Sharpstown High School have been very fortunate to have both a band teacher and a drama teacher. But, until “NBC’s ‘Smash’: Make A Musical” began this spring, these two worlds rarely connected. Now that FAME JR rehearsals have begun, students from these two ensembles are working together to put on the first musical in Sharpstown’s history. The band students are taking the leadership role while they learn choreography, and the drama students take the lead when they work on lines and characterizations. It is so great to see them helping each other. However, they seem to be having the most fun when they are singing and both groups are learning at the same time.
