Audition Central: The Phantom Tollbooth JR.
Script: Narrators
(The WHETHER MAN raises his umbrella and does an eccentric little dance. MILO watches with incredulous fascination as the WHETHER MAN dances himself offstage into the wings. Talking to himself, MILO turns towards the audience and says:)
(Music: INTO THE DOLDRUMS. MILO maneuvers his car in a slow circle around the stage. The NARRATORS enter.)
(MILO dips and turns the car.)
Milo soon began to daydream and pay less and less attention to where he was going.
(A CHILD enters carrying a sign consisting of two arrows pointing in different directions: One arrow reads RIGHT WAY, the other reads WRONG WAY. MILO goes the wrong way, which visibly upsets the CHILD holding the sign.)
Before he knew it, he had taken a wrong turn.
(The CHILD exits, shaking his or her head in dismay. The music slows down and the NARRATORS speak more slowly.)
Everything began to change...
(yawns)
The car slowed down and finally stopped.
(The NARRATORS exit.)
MILO
Really weird! What have I gotten into here?(Music: INTO THE DOLDRUMS. MILO maneuvers his car in a slow circle around the stage. The NARRATORS enter.)

As the car entered a broad, green valley, the road dipped and turned.(MILO dips and turns the car.)
