For over a decade, The Broadway Teachers Workshop has welcomed thousands of educators from all over the world for three extraordinary days behind the scenes on Broadway. Last year's guest artists included Stephen Sondheim, Lin Manuel Miranda, John Tartaglia, Paul Gemignani and cast members from all participating Broadway shows.

All attendees receive a letter of certification and are eligible to receive graduate credit through UNLV. Tuition is $599 if paid before April 1, 2012. $649 thereafter.

OBJECTIVE: The Broadway Teachers Workshop is designed to inspire teachers and directors of middle school, high school and college theatre and arts with new teaching methods, enhanced production skills and an exchange of ideas with peers and professional Broadway artists.

WHAT: A 3-day intensive workshop on Broadway that includes your ticket to 4 shows with post show cast discussions; 8 workshops and master classes with Broadway performers, creative teams, and production staff; and peer sessions throughout. Work along side Broadway’s top artists and your peers from around the world in an exhilarating and enriching professional development experience that goes behind the scenes on Broadway, explores the craft of theatre as it pertains to your school productions, and provides you with useful information to bring back to your students.

WHERE: All sessions are held in Broadway rehearsal studios located in New York's theatre district. The BTW 2012 venue will be announced soon!

Shows under consideration include: GODSPELL, WARHORSE, EVITA, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, NEWSIES, PETER AND THE STAR CATCHERS, END OF THE RAINBOW, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, PORGY AND BESS, ONE MAN TWO GUVNORS, LYSISTRATA JONES, GHOST, & REBECCA.

In addition to four shows and talkback discussions with the cast (wherever available), the 2012 Broadway Teachers Workshop will feature a brand new roster of classes and fresh takes on perennial classics. STUDENTS?

Teachers are welcome to bring their top students to the BTW. Registration process and tuition fees are the same for students. Once a student has registered, we will require a permission slip to be filled out by a parent or legal guardian.
