Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday was celebrated last Monday with a number of touching tributes and accolades, but perhaps the most exciting gift of all came at the gala performance of the new Broadway musical, "Sondheim on Sondheim."

Thanks to the generosity of a small group of Sondheim's biggest fans, the Roundabout Theater Company announced that the recently refurbished Henry Miller Theater will be renamed the Stephen Sondheim Theater. Despite the many honors Sondheim has received for his incredible contributions to the theater, this was one of very few that had not yet been bestowed upon him.
