Kennedy Center Announces Inspirational Teaching Awards in Honor of Stephen Sondheim

Last March Music Theatre International CEO Freddie Gershon and his wife Myrna initiated an awards program with the Kennedy Center to recognize the achievements of some of the nation's most outstanding educators. Freddie and Myrna funded the program's grant and named the awards in honor of their good friend, Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Stephen Sondheim.
Recently, in recognition of Sondheim's 81st birthday, the Kennedy Center announced the inaugural recipients of the Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards.
