10 Years On with Bring It On!
10 years ago, Bring It On The Musical opened at the St. James Theatre and left it all on the floor, bringing its contagious energy and spirit to Broadway! Starring Taylor Louderman, future Tony winner Adrienne Warren, and future Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, this fresh musical inspired by the hit movie united the brilliant talents of Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), Tony nominee and Jonathan Larson Award winner Amanda Green (High Fidelity), and Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composers Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton). The production received Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Choreography for Andy Blankenbuehler, who both directed and choreographed.
Campbell is cheer-royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic — she's been named captain of the squad! But, an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighboring Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the school's dance crew. Together with their headstrong and hardworking leader, Danielle, they form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition — the National Championships.
Since it's Broadway run, Bring It On has leapt onto stages all over. With its infectious score, hysterical book, and ample roles, it's no wonder!
