When struggling actor Daniel Hillard loses custody of his kids in a messy divorce, he is determined to stay in their lives by any means necessary. After learning that his ex-wife plans on hiring another caretaker to help her around the house, Daniel creates a Scottish alter ego that goes by the name Euphegenia Doubtfire to take on the role of the nanny. But when Mrs. Doubtfire begins to take on a life of her own, Daniel realizes that it takes more to be a father than a fancy new apron.
