A Part of us
Currently doing a production of OOTI jr. It seems to me that the emotional weight of the song A Part of Us has been substantially lessened by the cuts from the original score, and it makes the staging less able to show it as well (The passing of Timoune amongst the gods in the original is kind of glossed over) Any suggestions as to how effectively stage the song and maintain the emotional as the jr show is written? ( The original song brings a lump to my throught every time I hear it!)

Elementary Musicals - Getting Started
Hello! I have successfully started a drama club at my elementary school with fourth and fifth grade students, but still have little to no budget. Do you have any prices available for shows that don't charge admission? Are there any shows that might run under an hour so that our club could still showcase those actors who are not musical each year? Thank you for your response.

what show??
I'm looking for a show for the theatre department at my high school that will have very broad appeal and a large cast. I am in the midst of trying to build the program both in the school and in the community. Can you recommend something that has great music and a decent book and message? I feel like I SHOULD do Grease but my heart's not in it...

Singing in the Rain- Rain Coats

New to directing
We are a high school with a drama club that is interested in producing it's first musical in about 12 years! I will begin my second year as director in the fall. I do not have a music background and our music department is not interested in any sort of participation. I am asking to start a parent support group to help with costumes and some of the mechanical construction. I have been a scenic arts instructor in this school for three years. We fabricate everything for our productions with recycled goods, in house, with students at the helm. Our budget is next to nothing. I feel that however backdoor this may seem, I want the students to have the best. I am all that they have for adult direction. We are interested in producing "Into the Woods, Junior" (thinking that the junior version may be a better fit for first timers). With the package I read it as including a CD that we could use for performances. Is that correct? Am I reading the catalogue correctly in that only the Jr. shows have music tracks that can be used during the productions? Is there an approx. cost for the package to perform the show two times to a house of 600 for ticket prices of $5 for adults, $3 seniors and students? I am a bit lost. I appreciate any other information that you may be able to provide that may help us move to the next level, musicals.Beth Richenbacher-LutzRavenna High School, Drama Club Advisor/Director, Scenic Arts InstructorRavenna, Ohio

Cost of OrchEXTRA
I am invovled in starting a new community center in my area. We are looking at doing a musical for the Spring, but are not established to have connections for instrumentalists to come in. (we will be putting out intrest flyers and have auditions for musicians that we CAN get). My question is... How much does OrchEXTRA cost?!? We are looking at using it to add to a SMALL SMALL group of musicians. Thank You
