Returned MTI Materials Lost in Transit

I assisted on a few months back and heard later on that the company's returned MTI materials got lost in transit (through word of mouth) and weren't returned. To my understanding, the company lost their security deposit to cover the charges of lost materials, but I was curious if there were any other charges?
