Daughter of DJ Chester Lester. At the beginning she is a famous Popular singer with her own TV show, then as the musical goes back in time to the late 50’s, she’s known as “Roberta”, a slightly nerdy girls wearing glasses and dreaming of Rock & Roll. But once she gets to the Rockabilly Barn she starts to transform into a current, hip, late-50’s teenager.
High School dropout – Passionate, hot headed, and longing for a Rock ‘n’ Roll recording contract. Love interest of Ruby and the lead of Gary & The Twisters.
Best friend of Ruby's - she loves the R&R beat and wants to invent her "own" dance step. Her biggest challenge thinking up a truly “original” dance step.
Judy's boyfriend and an aspiring DJ who becomes the KWK Radio Studio Flunky.
Top DJ and Radio host on KWK and Dad to Ruby.
Rock & Roll talent scout and Host of new LET’S ROCK Dance TV show.
Owner of the Radio Station who bans Rock & Roll music
Secretary/Receptionist for KWK and general busy body.
A Julia Childs type of character who is teaching the Home Economics class. **May even be a guy in drag ala Mrs. Doubtfire.
Cooler band member of Gary & The Twisters.
Weaselly kid who always knows the latest “scoop,” band member of Gary & The Twisters.
High School Girl
The bad girl type, with a snarky attitude about everything.
High School girl and a Roller skating waitress at Moe’s Diner.
High School friend of Raymond.

The “Generic” Ensemble can be any other characters that might populate Webster Groves, MO. High school kids, parents, teachers, etc. The number can vary depending on how many ensemble performers are available to cast.
